Let’s Play Catch Up 8/20-24

We haven’t talked in a while. A Long While. I’ve had good intentions, but you know how that is. I’m still writing, but I also have a part-time job working at Timmons Insurance Agency in my home town of York, SC. I actually love it.

But back to the writing part!

You may have noticed that I seem to be focusing on my first love lately—that would be fantasy. The covers for my Kingdom of Kearnley series got a makeover. The paperbacks now include a map. (insert geek-girl squeal here) And the first book, Securing Aisling, has been on sale all month.

And… I’ve started a new series. I still don’t have a title, but book one is done and currently in the editing process. If you’ve read the KoK series, then you may remember the war-torn country of Rivania. That’s the setting for this new series. I’ve included a character from KoK too. Her name is Gemma. She starts out as a little girl in Healing Gilvary and is a warrior in Restoring Dermot. But the book isn’t about her, not really.

What else have I been up to? Well, I’ve gotten back into gardening and houseplants. I’ve always wanted a raised bed garden and I have the beginnings of one now. And the houseplants keep multiplying. Don’t know how that’s happening. I probably need to stay away from the clearance section at the garden centers around town.

I’m still painting… or have the desire to. I like abstracts and that’s not very popular around here. The criticism can stop you in your tracks sometimes, you know? I’m still quilting too. My granddaughter has put in her request for one—castles, princesses, and unicorns, oh my! Wonder where she gets it.

So, what have you been up to? I’d love to hear from you.
